Crews are clearing brush in the median of I-15 throughout the project limits. Work will continue on the soundwall between Cajalco Road and El Cerrito Road to construct the cast-in-drilled hole (CIDH) piles that will support the wall. Activities include drilling, installing rebar and pouring concrete. This work does not require lane closures.
Concrete barriers will be placed at the north end of Old Hamner Road to restrict access to the Santa Ana River trail. The construction noise is not safe for horses or their riders.
Pictured below: To prepare for the Santa Ana River bridge widening, crews have installed devices in the bridge openings to allow birds to fly out but not back into the openings. The birds must vacate the bridge before construction begins.
